Half of Floor Slab Poured for the Fort Worth Texas Temple
Half of the floor slab for the main level of the Fort Worth Texas Temple has been poured and cured with plumbing pipes rising through the concrete surface. When the second half of the slab is poured, an opening will be formed over the walls for the baptismal font. Plans for the temple were announced at the October 2021 general conference, and the groundbreaking was held two years later in October 2023.
Footings and Basement Walls for the Fort Worth Texas Temple
The footings and basement walls for the Fort Worth Texas Temple are taking shape. The partial basement will house the baptismal font so that the top of the basin is level with the main floor. A concrete pump truck sits next to the basement, stabilized by retractable outriggers. A boom folds out from the top of the truck, guiding the hose that delivers wet concrete to the crews on the ground.
Foundation Work Underway on the Fort Worth Texas Temple
Work has begun on installing the foundation for the Fort Worth Texas Temple. Walls are being formed for the partial basement where the baptismal font will be housed, and footings will soon be formed for the main floor walls. Reinforced concrete pipe has been staged on site for the drainage system, and heavy equipment is being used to trench and move earth. The building will stand in the Fort Worth suburb of Burleson.
Preliminary Construction at the Fort Worth Texas Temple Site
Concrete retaining structures are being installed at the Fort Worth Texas Temple site as part of the preliminary construction that has been ongoing since the groundbreaking was held six weeks ago. Other activities have included site grading, trenching for water and sewer lines, and installation of components for the site drainage system. The beautiful Mission-style temple will join the Dallas Texas Temple as the second in the Metroplex. A third has been announced for the McKinney area.
Groundbreaking Event Held for the Fort Worth Texas Temple
The groundbreaking for the Fort Worth Texas Temple was held on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Elder Jose L. Alonso, a General Authority Seventy and First Counselor in the North America Southwest Area Presidency, presided. In his site dedicatory prayer, Elder Alonso said: "Our hearts are full of appreciation for the treasured gift of Thy Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. His divine mission provides hope and purpose. Through His atonement, we find solace during trials, and through His grace, we are fortified with strength and encouragement to serve our neighbors."
Preparing to Build the Fort Worth Texas Temple
In preparation for construction of the Fort Worth Texas Temple, a chain-link fence with a privacy screen has been erected around the temple site, and erosion control measures have been implemented. The formal groundbreaking ceremony will be held next month on Saturday, October 28, with Elder Jose L. Alonso, General Authority Seventy and First Counselor in the North America Southwest Area Presidency, presiding.

The 30,000-square-foot temple will be constructed on a 9.37-acre site located north of Southwest Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in the suburb of Burleson.
Collecting Soil Samples at the Fort Worth Texas Temple Site
Cores samples are being collected at the Fort Worth Texas Temple site for soil analysis that will support the structural engineering plans being developed for the building. An exterior rendering and site location was released for this House of the Lord on October 31, 2022. The temple will be erected on a 9.37-acre site in the Fort Worth suburb of Burleson.
Rendering and Location Announced for th Fort Worth Texas Temple
The Fort Worth Texas Temple will be constructed on a 9.37-acre site located North of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in the suburb of Burleson, Texas. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet. It will be the second temple built in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, joining the Dallas Texas Temple (1984). A third has been announced for the community of Prosper.
