The final opportunity to tour the renovated Ogden Utah Temple and Ogden Tabernacle will be this Saturday, September 6, which will conclude a five-week public open house. Free reservations for the final days are available online.

The magnificently reconstructed Ogden Utah Temple is a sparkling new centerpiece to Ogden's redeveloping downtown district. The temple's beauty was recently captured from the perspective of a drone and edited into a compelling YouTube video. The temple is currently open for public tours.

In this photograph captured by the webcam on Friday, the beautiful dancing waters of the east foundation can be seen at the Ogden Utah Temple. Numerous crates of flowers are on site, ready for planting this week in the flowerbeds found throughout the temple grounds.

Full Lighting Tests Underway at Ogden Utah Temple
All of the exterior lights at the Ogden Utah Temple are being tested tonight including the landscaping bollards. The beautifully renovated temple has completely altered the exterior of the original building, though the original angel Moroni was refurbished and returned to the top of the spire.

With just eight weeks remaining before its public open house begins, the Ogden Utah Temple is looking more beautiful than ever. Construction barriers are coming down as trees, flowers, and grass are going up. Contractors have their punch lists in hand in order to have the building "temple ready."

A beautiful granite-clad sign on Washington Boulevard now identifies the Ogden Utah Temple, which will be surrounded by colorful flowers and vegetation before the August open house. And with the decorative fence in place, the unsightly green construction barrier is coming down.

Long rolls of green grass are restoring color to the grounds of the Ogden Utah Temple, starting at the southeast corner of the site. Over the coming weeks, the temple block will be covered in nature including trees, shrubs, and flowers. Public tours of the interior begin in August.

The First Presidency has announced the reopening of the Ogden Utah Temple. The public house will be held Friday, August 1, through Saturday, September 6, 2014. The rededication will be broadcast in three sessions on Sunday, September 21, 2014.

Lighting Tests Underway at Ogden Utah Temple
The spire of the Ogden Utah Temple was beautifully illuminated last night by the new lighting system that is being installed and tested. The grounds continue to be more defined and filled with vegetation. Water has been added to the pool on the west side of the temple.

Spring and summer will provide the needed weather to make the final push on the renovation of the Ogden Utah Temple block, which is expected to be completed later this year. Numerous trees and shrubs are making their new home on the grounds while work advances on the interior.

Activity is full steam ahead at the Ogden Utah Temple grounds where the installation of a decorative fence and the planting of trees and shrubs are quickly advancing. In cooperation with the City, Grant Avenue has been closed behind the temple, which will be reconfigured and beautified.

Fencing Ready for Installation at the Ogden Utah Temple
Flatbed trucks have arrived at the Ogden Utah Temple site carrying long sections of decorative fencing. The fence will surround the entire block, connected to granite-clad concrete block columns. Workers are drilling holes where the fence will be secured at regular intervals along the perimeter.

A news article by the Standard-Examiner reports that the Ogden Utah Temple should open this year. "We are confident we can have the temple rededicated in the latter half of 2014," said Elder Walker, executive director of the Temple Department.

Laying Granite for Ogden Utah Temple Fountain
Large slabs of granite are being added to the fountain at the east entrance of the Ogden Utah Temple, which has being undergoing renovation since April 2011. To prevent water overspill from freezing, heating tubes have been installed around the circumference.

On the south side of the Ogden Utah Temple nearly all of the art glass windows have been installed, which feature a variety of the prairie primrose flower. Workers continue to make progress on the east side of the building where the main entrance and water feature are located.

A system of orange tubing is being installed under walkways near the major entrances to the Ogden Utah Temple, which will help protect patrons from winter slips and falls by reducing snow and ice buildup. Numerous unplanted trees stand on site, patiently waiting for temperatures to rise.

Concrete Poured on East Side of Ogden Utah Temple
On the east side of the Ogden Utah Temple, concrete has been poured for the walkways, planters, and water feature that will greet patrons as they walk toward the main entrance. Lamp posts are installed and fence posts are covered in a black mastic, awaiting the attachment of granite.

Ogden Utah Temple Update
With scaffolding coming down from the steeple of the Ogden Utah Temple, more of the beautiful granite-clad building has been revealed. The gilded words Holiness to the Lord have been added over the east entrance, and additions continue to appear on the temple grounds including curb and gutter for the south-side driveway.

Fence Posts Added to the Ogden Utah Temple Site
Concrete-block fence posts have been appearing at the Ogden Utah Temple site along the Washington Boulevard side of the property. The sturdy posts will be filled with concrete and covered in the same granite as the temple. Granite on the south side of the temple has reached the steeple.

Work Progressing on the Ogden Tabernacle
The Ogden Utah Temple is not the only building on the block receiving an extreme makeover. The appearance of the Ogden Tabernacle has also been changed with the removal of its bulky spire and the addition of a sleek parapet wall. Currently, windows are being installed and sheetrock hung.

Just after 10:00 a.m. on May 7, the original but reconditioned statue of the angel Moroni took its place again atop the newly installed spire of the Ogden Utah Temple (video), which is being fully renovated. The heralding angel is a proclamation that The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored.

Construction Update on the Ogden Utah Temple
At the Ogden Utah Temple, much of the granite and window installation has been completed on the main level. Plastic sheeting has been wrapped around the upper levels to control the temperature where black waterproofing is being applied to green insulating blocks prior to the attachment of more granite slabs. Framing is proceeding in both the temple and the adjacent tabernacle, which has donned a new parapet wall. Much of the underground parking facility is finished where extra long rebar is being laid for the upper deck of the structure.

The white framework for the Ogden Utah Temple spire has patiently stood on its staging pad for months, as it receives preparations for its eventual flight and landing atop the building. Workers are currently assembling additional steel framing around the base of the structure.

Granite installers, who have been hard at work at the Ogden Utah Temple, have completed the south wall of the main floor, which is now visible via the webcam. Scaffolding has been erected around the waiting spire on the cement staging area.

A Peek at the Art Glass Windows of the Ogden Utah Temple
While many of the window openings in the Ogden Utah Temple are filled with a temporary acrylic, beautiful new art glass windows have been installed in the openings at the southwest corner of the building. Granite panel installation continues on all sides of the temple, as scaffolding travels further up the exterior walls. At the tabernacle, the opening left from removing the spire has been replaced with a new window opening.

Fierce Winds Bring Down Fence at Ogden Utah Temple
Hours of ferocious winds that ripped through Davis and Weber counties last week—taking out electricity, leveling trees, prying off shingles, and wreaking havoc—also brought down the construction fence at the Ogden Utah Temple. It is being reinforced with stronger poles.

On Tuesday, November 8, the Miles Goodyear cabin was moved to a temporary location to allow construction activities to proceed at the Ogden Utah Temple site. Both the cabin and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum will be moved next year to a permanent home near the temple.

Ogden Skyline Addition
At the Ogden Utah Temple site, a skyscraping tower crane has been brought on site, which will perform a variety of tasks in the reconstruction of the building. The crane is currently being certified for use. Huge mounds of dirt on site will be filled in around the buildings' foundations after they have been waterproofed.

With the final rounded portion of the top level of the Ogden Utah Temple removed, construction activities are focusing more heavily on reinforcement and rebuilding. The main level and core portion of the top level will stay. Several new openings have been cut in the main level walls.

Ogden Utah Temple Spire Disassembled and Removed
On August 8–9, shortly after the angel Moroni was hoisted off the spire of the Ogden Utah Temple, the spire itself was disassembled and removed from its long-standing position atop the center of the building. The white spire was originally gold colored, until it was painted in 2002.

Angel Moroni Statue Removed from Ogden Utah Temple
Just less than a month after a gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni was lifted atop the Brigham City Utah Temple, a figure of the same angel was lifted down from the Ogden Utah Temple. Nearly the entire exterior façade of the temple has been removed, leaving a steel and concrete shell.

Workers continue to deconstruct the Ogden Utah Temple, which is undergoing a complete transformation. A large number of the exterior panels that once surrounded the temple have been removed, allowing passers-by to see right through the building. Demolition Makes Way for Underground Parking in Ogden
Demolition work continues at the Ogden Utah Temple where the parking terrace is being dismantled and removed. The terrace will be replaced with an underground parking facility and surface parking. The Ogden Utah Temple serves 82 stakes—the most of any temple in the United States.

The Ogden Temple Block has turned into a construction site with the arrival of trucks, trailers, and chain-link fencing. Furniture and equipment that will be reused in the temple have been relocated off site. The temple cornerstone has been removed and an old motel across the street razed.

On Wednesday, September 8, the Ogden Planning Commission granted its approval of the final site plans for the Ogden Utah Temple renovation, which will completely transform the exterior of the building. The project is expected to begin next year.

The Church has announced that the Ogden Utah Temple block will undergo a complete overhaul. Most notably, the temple's entire exterior will be reshaped with beautiful stone and art glass.
