Numerous trees and shrubs are making their new home on the grounds while work advances on the interior.

Fencing Ready for Installation at the Ogden Utah TempleFlatbed trucks have arrived at the Ogden Utah Temple site carrying long sections of decorative fencing. The fence will surround the entire block, connected to granite-clad concrete block columns. Workers are drilling holes where the fence will be secured at regular intervals along the perimeter.

Ogden Utah Temple Expected to Open in 2014A news article by the Standard-Examiner reports that the Ogden Utah Temple should open this year. "We are confident we can have the temple rededicated in the latter half of 2014," said Elder Walker, executive director of the Temple Department.

Laying Granite for Ogden Utah Temple FountainLarge slabs of granite are being added to the fountain at the east entrance of the Ogden Utah Temple, which has being undergoing renovation since April 2011. To prevent water overspill from freezing, heating tubes have been installed around the circumference.

Concrete Poured on East Side of Ogden Utah TempleOn the east side of the Ogden Utah Temple, concrete has been poured for the walkways, planters, and water feature that will greet patrons as they walk toward the main entrance. Lamp posts are installed and fence posts are covered in a black mastic, awaiting the attachment of granite.

Ogden Utah Temple UpdateWith scaffolding coming down from the steeple of the Ogden Utah Temple, more of the beautiful granite-clad building has been revealed. The gilded words Holiness to the Lord have been added over the east entrance, and additions continue to appear on the temple grounds including curb and gutter for the south-side driveway.

Fence Posts Added to the Ogden Utah Temple SiteConcrete-block fence posts have been appearing at the Ogden Utah Temple site along the Washington Boulevard side of the property. The sturdy posts will be filled with concrete and covered in the same granite as the temple. Granite on the south side of the temple has reached the steeple.

Work Progressing on the Ogden TabernacleThe Ogden Utah Temple is not the only building on the block receiving an extreme makeover. The appearance of the Ogden Tabernacle has also been changed with the removal of its bulky spire and the addition of a sleek parapet wall. Currently, windows are being installed and sheetrock hung.

Backfilling the Ogden Utah Temple Parking StructureThe expansive, solidly constructed parking facility at the Ogden Utah Temple will provide ample parking spaces for the patrons of the 75 stakes of the Ogden Utah Temple District. With backfilling now underway, little remains before the structure is deemed complete.

Construction Update on the Ogden Utah TempleAt the Ogden Utah Temple, much of the granite and window installation has been completed on the main level. Plastic sheeting has been wrapped around the upper levels to control the temperature where black waterproofing is being applied to green insulating blocks prior to the attachment of more granite slabs. Framing is proceeding in both the temple and the adjacent tabernacle, which has donned a new parapet wall. Much of the underground parking facility is finished where extra long rebar is being laid for the upper deck of the structure.

A Peek at the Art Glass Windows of the Ogden Utah TempleWhile many of the window openings in the Ogden Utah Temple are filled with a temporary acrylic, beautiful new art glass windows have been installed in the openings at the southwest corner of the building. Granite panel installation continues on all sides of the temple, as scaffolding travels further up the exterior walls. At the tabernacle, the opening left from removing the spire has been replaced with a new window opening.

Ogden Utah Temple Spire Disassembled and RemovedOn August 8–9, shortly after the angel Moroni was hoisted off the spire of the Ogden Utah Temple, the spire itself was disassembled and removed from its long-standing position atop the center of the building. The white spire was originally gold colored, until it was painted in 2002.

Angel Moroni Statue Removed from Ogden Utah TempleJust less than a month after a gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni was lifted atop the Brigham City Utah Temple, a figure of the same angel was lifted down from the Ogden Utah Temple. Nearly the entire exterior façade of the temple has been removed, leaving a steel and concrete shell.

The terrace will be replaced with an underground parking facility and surface parking. The Ogden Utah Temple serves 82 stakes—the most of any temple in the United States.
