Idaho Falls Temple Wrapping UpIn just seven weeks, the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple will open to the public for tours of the interior. Contractors continue to work toward completion of the renovation work.

Open House Tickets Available in April for Idaho Falls TempleSpring flowers will be a reminder to reserve your open house tickets for the renovated Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. Reservations will be taken beginning Monday, April 3, through an online reservation system. The open house will be held April 22 through May 20, 2017, except for Sundays.

Idaho Falls Idaho Temple to Reopen in JuneThe public open house for the newly renovated Idaho Falls Idaho Temple will be held Saturday, April 22, through Saturday, May 20, 2017. The rededication of the temple will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2017, in three sessions. Youth will present a cultural celebration the evening before.

Parking Lot Resurfacing at the Idaho Falls Idaho TempleWork is wrapping up on resurfacing the north-side parking lot at the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. The temple has been closed for renovation for the past 18 months and is expected to be rededicated early next year. The building will reopen to the public for tours for the first time in 71 years.

Reroofing the Idaho Falls Idaho TempleColored flags, ladders, and construction chutes are evidence of the roofing activities taking place at the historic Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, which has been undergoing renovation for just over a year. Construction of the original temple was interrupted by World War II, delaying dedication until 1945.

Idaho Falls Idaho Temple ModificationsWindows that were once located at the southeast corner of the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple have been removed and replaced with square-in-square concrete blocks—a pattern used throughout the temple. This area of the building, near the new bridal exit door, is being repurposed.

Roof Work Taking Place at Idaho Falls Idaho TempleColorful pennant flags placed along the roofline of the west side of the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple are an indication of the roof repair and upgrade work taking place. A roofing contractor's truck and large stacks of insulating material in a staging area of the parking lot provide additional clues.

New Exits to Bridal Plaza Added to South Wall of Idaho Falls Idaho TempleAs part of the ongoing renovation of the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, two new exit doorways have been cut into the south wall of the temple, which lead to the beautiful bridal plaza, featuring gardens and a shading structure that acts as a backdrop for wedding party photographs. The work of asbestos removal has recently been completed, which required several more weeks than anticipated due to the large amount of asbestos encountered.

Idaho Falls Renovation BeginsOver twenty marriages were performed in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on its last day of operation before closing for a major renovation on Monday. The parking lots, which were filled to capacity with cars, are now occupied by trucks, trailers, and storage containers as furniture and decorations are hauled out of the building.

Renovation Announced for the Idaho Falls Idaho TempleThe First Presidency has announced that the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple will close for renovation beginning Monday, March 16, 2015. The temple is expected to reopen in October 2016. Members in the temple district are encouraged to attend the Rexburg Idaho Temple during the closure.

Landscaping Recognized by Idaho Falls CommissionA total renovation of the grounds of the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple was recognized by the Idaho Falls Beautification Commission this year by giving the temple its top award in the non-residential category. The project created a beautiful waterfall feature and four gathering plazas.

Baptistry Entrance Reopens at Idaho Falls Idaho TempleOn the western side of the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, renovation of the grounds is nearly complete. The sidewalks leading to the baptistry entrance have been reopened where the square-in-square design element of the temple has been replicated in the entrance patio.

Renovation Brings "Falls" to Idaho Falls Idaho TempleThe Idaho Falls Idaho Temple will soon have falls of its own, as a water feature that cascades into a lighted pool is under construction. Plans also include a bridal courtyard, reconfigured baptistry walkway, and four large gathering areas.

Lawn Removed for Landscaping Makeover in Idaho FallsWork is well underway on the overhaul of the grounds at the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, which haven't received a treatment of this magnitude in over 40 years. Project plans include a new entrance water feature and creation of several gathering areas for temple visitors.

Landscaping Renovation Coming to Idaho Falls Idaho TempleThe grounds of the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple will be redone this summer in an extensive renovation project expected to last through late September. The original reflecting pools, once filled with water lillies and small fish and then converted to flowerbeds in the 1960s, will be replaced with a new water feature.
