President Russell M. Nelson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, presided at the groundbreaking for the Heber Valley Utah Temple on Saturday, October 8, 2022. The 88,000-square-foot temple will be constructed on a 17.9-acre site located southeast of 1400 East Center Street in Heber City. President Nelson announced the temple in the October 2021 General Conference.

On September 19, 2022, the official exterior rendering of the Heber Valley Utah Temple was released to the public.
Temple Site
On September 19, 2022, the location of the Heber Valley Utah Temple was officially announced as a 17.9-acre site located southeast of 1400 East Center Street in Heber City, Utah. Plans call for a three-story temple of approximately 88,000 square feet.1
Temple Announcement
On October 3, 2021, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Heber Valley Utah Temple at the October 2021 General Conference. Heber Valley is a picturesque rural mountain valley located in Wasatch County, about 40 miles from Salt Lake City, near world-renowned ski resorts and state parks. The temple in Heber Valley will be the 28th temple in Utah either dedicated, under construction, or announced for construction. The other 27 temples include the Bountiful Utah Temple, Brigham City Utah Temple, Cedar City Utah Temple, Deseret Peak Utah Temple, Draper Utah Temple, Ephraim Utah Temple, Jordan River Utah Temple, Layton Utah Temple, Lindon Utah Temple, Logan Utah Temple, Manti Utah Temple, Monticello Utah Temple, Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, Ogden Utah Temple, Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple, Orem Utah Temple, Payson Utah Temple, Provo City Center Temple, Provo Utah Temple, Red Cliffs Utah Temple, Salt Lake Temple, Saratoga Springs Utah Temple, Smithfield Utah Temple, St. George Utah Temple, Syracuse Utah Temple, Taylorsville Utah Temple, and Vernal Utah Temple.2

The Heber Valley Utah Temple will be the twenty-eighth temple built in Utah and the first built in Wasatch County.
