Following the tradition of New England architecture, the temple will feature many classical elements including Ionic columns supporting a pediment, square lattice windows, and a frieze bearing the inscription Holiness to the Lord—The House of the Lord.

Construction of Hartford Temple Expected to Begin this SummerDemolition of the existing building at the Hartford Connecticut Temple site is anticipated to begin sometime after the end of June when a business operating there will have relocated. The building formerly served as the Whitman Restaurant. A date for the groundbreaking has not been announced.

Plan and Zoning Commission OKs Hartford Temple PlansOn Tuesday, the Town Plan and Zoning Commission resumed a public hearing to receive input on the Hartford Connecticut Temple project. After taking comments, including concerns about increased traffic on Route 4, the commissioners unanimously approved the request.
"I should not like to contemplate an existence, especially one that is going to continue forever, if I could not enjoy that existence with those whom I love. And so we build temples in the name of the Lord."
